This program reads any MIDI event (in any channel) and draws the
corresponding bar on the screen just like a Graphic Equalizer.
MIDImeter processes all the "note on" and "note off" messages sent to
any MIDI channel, then it checks for the key velocity data and draw the
appropriate bar on the screen.
The bar's height depends by the velocity data, and stronger the
velocity, higher the bar.
The colors used for the bars are from green to yellow then red where
green means weak velocity and red strong velocity.
At the top of the screen there are sixteen boxes, every one
representing a MIDI channel. When a note in the channel X is received,
the box number X will light on. The color of the box is velocity
dependent, just like the bars.
To enjoy this program, you should connect your Amiga to a sequencer or
simply to a MIDI keyboard (or any other MIDI device) and just look at
the screen.
You should also have a velocity sensitive keyboard or device.
The program runs both on NTSC and PAL Amigas and sets the screen in the
appropriate way.
Press Esc to quit MIDImeter at any time.
Bugs: None known.
I've tested the program on my Amiga 3000 using one of my
favourite beasts to test it (Yamaha SY77).
However if a bug is detected, please let me know. Thanks.
